Be proud of your legs again.
Commonly found on the legs and feet, spider veins appear as small, red or purple veins on the surface of the skin. These damaged veins occur as a result of compromised valves within the veins, causing blood to back up. Risk factors include prolonged standing, sun exposure, hormonal changes, and injury. Although they generally pose no health risk, some may opt for treatment to enhance the appearance of their legs through sclerotherapy. This procedure involves injecting Asclera® sclerosing solution into the affected veins through an extremely thin needle, thus aggravating the veins and causing them to seal off. These veins then die off due to a lack of blood flow and are subsequently reabsorbed by the body, leaving the surface of the skin unblemished. Compression stockings need to be worn for the week following treatment.
